Peggy LaRue Freeze

Peggy LaRue Freeze, 95, of Rockville, Maryland, passed from this life on Saturday, December 10, 2022.

Born on May 29, 1927, in Hagerstown, MD, she was the daughter of the late Samuel Bachtel Plummer and Pearle Hilda (Price) Plummer.

She was employed by the National Geographic Society from 1969 to 1992, where she retired.

She was a member of Crusader Lutheran Church, where she taught Sunday school.

She enjoyed gardening, traveling, reading, and most importantly spending time with her loving family.

She is survived by her son, John D. Freeze and wife Victoria L. Freeze, daughter; Katherine E. Ferrell, and Carol A. Parsons; grandchildren Sam Parsons (Allison), Melinda Shadid (Bady), Grace (Stanley) Murgolo, and Cory and wife Jen Ferrell. Great-grandchildren; Wyatt Murgolo, Cole and Grant Parsons, and Liam and Luka Shadid.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her loving husband Paul D. Freeze, and son-in-law Steve Parsons.

The family will receive friends from 10:00 am to 11:00 am on Tuesday, December 27, 2022 at Stauffer Funeral Homes, in Thurmont MD, 104 East Main Street in Thurmont, MD.

A celebration of Peggy's life journey will take place at 11:00 am on Tuesday, December 27, 2022, at the funeral home. Reverend Tim May will officiate. Interment will be at Blue Ridge Cemetery in Thurmont, MD.
