Philip J. Ruhl

Philip J. Ruhl, 69, of Walkersville, passed away on Saturday, October 4, 2025 at his home.

Born on November 17, 1955, in Michigan, he was the son of the late Henry and Beatrice (Smith) Ruhl. He was the husband of Carol Sue Ruhl, his wife of 49 years.

Phil served from 1974 to 1978 in the United States Navy. He then went on to work as a master level mechanic for Rosenthal Gaithersburg Mazda. He was also a racing instructor at Summit Point Raceway. Phil had a passion for cars, racing, cooking, gardening, and the outdoors.

Surviving in addition to his wife, children Steven Ruhl and Carol (Patrick) Thunberg, grandchildren Gavin, Anthony and Odin, his sister Diana Buchler, and nieces and nephews.

He was predeceased by his daughter Sarah Ruhl, his brothers Michael and Duane Ruhl, as well as his parents Henry and Beatrice Ruhl.

The family will receive friends on Saturday, October 18, 2025 from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. at Stauffer Funeral Home, 1621 Opossumtown Pike, Frederick, MD 21702.
