March 8, 1939 — December 28, 2023

Frederick

Phyllis See Redmiles, age 84, passed on to meet her beloved Savior on Thursday, December 28, 2023 after an extended illness.

She was born on March 8, 1939 in Moorefield, West Virginia to the late Jesse Scott See and Mary Clayton See, the fourth and youngest living child. She was also preceded in death by her siblings.

At a young age, her family moved to Savage and then Jessup, Maryland. She resided most of her life in Howard County, first Fulton, then Mt. Airy, Maryland. She was married to David Redmiles for over 50 years and had four children, Sarita (Bill) Rockey, Dawn (Terrence) Reidy, David (Lisa) Redmiles, Jr., and Connie (Steve) McCoy. She had 10 grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.

She was a school bus driver for over 40 years and managed the finances for the family tree and bus businesses.  Christmas was always an abundant and joyful time for the family.

Phyllis was devoted to the churches that she attended over the years as a Sunday School teacher, Bible study coordinator and teacher, VBS and more! Berkeley Baptist Church of Berkeley Springs was her final church, where she was the treasurer for several years. She was involved in many community activities as Hospice, Bible Release, Kairos and was an accomplished speaker when called upon. Her love for the Lord was evident in everything she accomplished.

She loved crafts, and was accomplished in quilting, ceramics, sewing. She even had a craft shop for a time in Lisbon, Maryland. She was known, her whole life, for her wit and her snappy comebacks. She was a devoted friend to many.

The family will receive friends from 1 to 2 p.m. on Thursday, January 4, 2024, at Stauffer Funeral Home, 1621 Opossumtown Pike in Frederick.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. on Thursday, January 4, 2024, at the funeral home in Frederick. Rev. Joseph "Joey" Giles, Jr. will officiate. Burial will be held at Mount Olivet Cemetery in Frederick.

The family would like to thank the staff at Spring Arbor in Frederick, for their tender loving care and support of their mother and grandmother, especially these last few months. The Frederick Health Hospice care was invaluable, too.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that memorial donations be made to the Hospice of their choice or Berkeley Baptist Church, 300 Winchester Grade Road, Berkeley Springs, WV 25411.
