Raymond Huffman

With a heavy heart we announce the passing of Raymond Wilson Huffman "Jed", age 75, of Thurmont, Maryland on Wednesday, November 15, 2023 at his home with his family by his side. He was the beloved husband of JoAnn Huffman (Wiles) for 52 years.

Born December 28, 1947 in Bath County, Virginia, he was the son of the late Lloyd W. Huffman and Mary E. Huffman (Arbogast). 

He was a veteran of the United States Army serving in Vietnam from 1966-1969 and was honorably discharged.  He was a lifetime member of the Amvets Post #7 in Thurmont, Maryland. 

After his military service, he moved to Maryland and worked as a diesel mechanic/operator for T.M. Viers in Rockville for years. He retired from R.F. Kline in Frederick. Throughout his years he was an avid hunter and fisherman (charter fishing) with his friends. His greatest joy was spending time with his family and he cherished every moment with his granddaughters and great-grandson. 

In addition to his wife, JoAnn, he is survived by his daughter, Denise Sexton and husband, Robert, of Rocky Ridge; grandchildren, Brittany Cook and husband, Ryan, of Rocky Ridge, Alecia Sexton and boyfriend, Geoffrey, of Knoxville, Maryland; step son, Kevin Wiles of Virginia; and his sister, Linda Kemper (Huffman) of Covington, Virginia; and numerous nieces and nephews. 

He was preceded in death by his brothers, Leo Huffman, Rodney Huffman, and Lloyd Huffman, Jr.; and nephews, Robert Campbell, Rodney Huffman, Jr., and Reds Huffman

The family will receive friends from 2 to 4 p.m. on Sunday, November 19, 2023 at Stauffer Funeral Home, 1621 Opossumtown Pike in Frederick. 

Funeral services will be held at 12:30 p.m. on Tuesday, November 21, 2023 at Millboro Christian Church, 82 TC Walker Road, Millboro, Virginia 24460 with Pastor Lloyd Via officiating. Final resting place ceremonies will be held on Tuesday at the adjoining church cemetery.
