Mr. Raymond E. Lewis, 87, of Thurmont, Maryland, died, Sunday, January 11, 2015 at the Gettysburg Hospital. He was the husband of the late Ethel Wood Lewis.
Born September 16, 1927 in Thurmont, MD, he was the son of the late Edgar R. and Glenna Weller Lewis.
Mr. Lewis served his country in the U. S. Army and was a member of the American Legion Post #168 in Thurmont.
He is survived by his children Raymond E. Lewis II and wife Cherie of Hagerstown and Christine D. Lewis of Thurmont, grandchildren Raymond E. Lewis III, David A. Lewis and Marie L. Whitlow, great-grandchildren Jay, David II and John Lewis, and Gabriel and Danielle Whitlow, a great-great granddaughter, Sophia, siblings Donald L. Lewis, Robert A. Lewis and Janice L. Cary. He was preceded in death by eight siblings.
The family will receive friends at the Stauffer Funeral Home, 104 E. Main St., Thurmont, MD, Thursday, January 15, from 11am until service time at 12:00 Noon Pastor Ron Faith will officiate.
Interment Resthaven Memorial Cemetery.
