Regla P. Balaguer

Regla P. Balaguer passed away on May 13th, 2023 at the Dove House in Westminster, Maryland. She was born on July 1st, 1929 in Havana, Cuba.

Regla was a dedicated proof operator for Riggs National Bank in Washington, DC for more than 30 years, where she made many lifelong friends. Her colleagues remember her as a meticulous and hard-working individual who always got the job done with a smile on her face.

Outside of her career, Regla had a vivacious personality that won over the hearts of everyone around her. She was full of life and loved her family deeply. Watching Spanish soap operas and going shopping were two of her favorite hobbies.

Regla was remembered fondly by anyone who knew her, but there were often stories shared about how much she loved getting her hair and nails done. Always wanting to look her best for herself and others around her.

Regla is survived by her loving daughter Maria Cox. Regla adored spending time with Maria and cherished every moment they shared together throughout their lives.

Additionally, she is survived by Raquel Davis and husband Mike and Regina Mitchem - Regla's dearest granddaughters; as well as her nephew Carlos Cardona and wife Carolyn.

Regla will also be forever remembered through the legacy she leaves behind:  Ashley Mitchem, Clayton Davis, Matthew LaMastus, Jeffrey Mitchem, Hunter Davis, Lily Churchwell, her great grandchildren and Dylan Cardona her great nephew and Julia Cardona her great niece. She will also be remembered by her close friends: Brenda and Mike Graninger  and  Beverly Neil Anderson.

A visitation will be held in honor of Regla at Stauffer Funeral Home-Mt Airy on May 25th from 10-11 AM, followed by a graveside service at Parklawn Memorial Park at 1 pm which will be open to family and friends.

Regla will be missed by all of her loved ones but the memories she left with us will continue to live on. Her family and friends will remember her for the love she shared, and the beautiful impacts she had on their lives.
