Richard W. DeVore

Richard W. "Icky" DeVore, 75, of Hagerstown, passed from this life on Thursday, December 11, 2025 at University of Maryland Medical Center in Baltimore, Maryland.

Born on December 14, 1949, in Hagerstown, he was the son of the late Homer and Faye Estelle (Martz) DeVore.

Richard was a 1967 graduate of North Hagerstown High School. He was employed for 40 years at Statton Furniture.

Icky was a member of the American Legion for 38 years. He was a New York Yankees fan, excelled at shooting pool and played softball in the Hub City League.

He is survived by his granddaughter, Ashley Frenkel; one great-grandson, Riley Frenkel; and nieces and nephews.

Richard was preceded in death by his son, Richie Carl DeVore; and his brothers and sisters, Harold Ebersole, Jane Bowman, Lorraine Carder, and Ronald DeVore.

Graveside services will be held at 3 p.m. on Wednesday, December 17, 2025 with Rev. Tim May officiating.
