Richard Clinton Knight

Richard "Rip" Knight passed on July 10, 2023 at the age of 79, joining the love of his life Dorothy "Jean" Knight, with whom he enjoyed over 50 years of marriage.  A lifelong Maryland boy, he was raised in Hagerstown and Colmar Manor, graduating from Bladensburg High School in 1961.  After serving at Dover Air Force Base, he enjoyed success as a insurance agent in the Mount Airy area, where he raised his family, the central focus of his life and his pride and joy.  Always the life of any gathering, he enjoyed bowling, watching his grandchildren's activities and performances, and any opportunity to talk with everyone he met.  

He is survived by his sister, Jerry; his daughter, Karen; his son and daughter-in-law, Rick and Lara; his grandchildren, Lucy and Colby; family and friends, Joan Davenport and Carol and Tom Noonan.

A private family Life Celebration will be held at a later date.
