John R. "Richie" Harley, Sr.

John R. "Richie" Harley, Sr., 87, of Frederick, Maryland, passed from this life on Monday, September 14, 2026 at Citizens Care and Rehabilitation Center in Frederick.

Born on November 14, 1938, in Yellow Springs, MD, he was the son of the late Charles F. Harley and Margaret (Smith) Cutshall. In 1990, he was preceded in death by his wife, Evelyn Marie Harley.

Richie served in the United States Army then was employed by R.F. Kline for nearly 40 years.

He is survived by his sons, Jeff Scott Wiles and John Richard Harley, Jr.; and many other family members.

Richie was preceded in death by a daughter, Rose Marie Harley.

The family will receive friends from 2 to 4 p.m. on Sunday, September 20, 2026 at Stauffer Funeral Homes, 1621 Opossumtown Pike in Frederick.

A celebration of John's life journey will take place at 1 p.m. on Monday, September 21, 2026, at Stauffer Funeral Homes in Frederick. Rev. Tim May will officiate. Burial will be held at Resthaven Memorial Gardens in Frederick.
