Robbin Lee Edwards

April 24, 1953 — February 12, 2023

Frederick

Robbin Lee Edwards, 69, passed away on Sunday February 12, 2023 at home in Frederick, Maryland.  He was born on April 24, 1953 in Kansas City, Missouri and he grew up in Kansas City, Kansas. He was a son of the late Richard A. Edwards and Violet L. Smith Edwards.

Robbin graduated from Kansas City High School in 1970. He later moved to Maryland starting his long career in construction. His expertise was ceilings. Any kind, any type and any style; he could do them all.  About five years ago he retired from Interior Construction Services in Manassas Virginia.

After Robbin retired he began playing Pickleball several times a week. Loving the game so much, several guys formed a group called the Dear Bought Bangers. However, the game was enjoyed the most by Robbin when his grandchildren would visit from West Virginia and Massachusetts, because he enjoyed teaching them the game he loved so much.  I think we can all agree, Robbin is now teaching his son Andy how to play Pickleball in heaven.

Robbin was a big sports fan. His favorites of course are the Kansas City Chiefs and Kansas City Royals. Go Chiefs!  He also followed the Washington Redskins, the Washington Nationals and Baltimore Orioles.

And then there was his music interest. He loved Patsy Cline. For those who were “lucky” enough to ride with him, it was CD after CD, over and over again, and if that’s not enough for your listening pleasure, how about a little Hank Williams, and again CD after CD, over and over again.

Robbin was a member of Mt. Zion United Methodist Church, McKaig. He looked forward to learning more about the bible each week and talking with his church family.

Robbin is survived by his wife, Melinda A. Altman of 18 years; two daughters, Jennifer L. and husband Brett Mason of Massachusetts; Kate L. and husband Robert Salisbury III of West Virginia. Grandchildren: Jenavieve R., Noah L., and Lucas D. Mason; Lily and Robert Salisbury IV: sister Theresa and husband Rick Morgan; sister-in-law Jane and husband Harry Bartgis; nephew Ricky and wife Stacy Korb and nephew Corey Edwards.

Besides his parents, Robbin was preceded in death by his son Andrew W. Edwards; one sister Tammy Edwards and two brothers Ricky and Randy Edwards.

The family will receive friends on Wednesday February 22 from 4-7 pm at the Stauffer Funeral Home, 1621 Opossumtown Pike, Frederick Maryland. Services will be held on Thursday February 23 at 11:00 am. Pastor Rich Gibbs will officiate. Special music by Karen Sechler.
