Robert Joseph “Bobby” Drevo, affectionately known to many as “Bubba” or “Uncle Bob” passed away peacefully on October 1, 2025, at home in Mt. Airy, MD, surrounded by loving family and friends. Bob was 83. A devoted husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend, Robert will be fondly remembered for his generous spirit, warm and comical storytelling, and his ability to fix just about anything.
Bob was born on November 5, 1941, in Washington, DC and was the older son of the late Joseph Charles Drevo and Dorothy Victoria Jacob Drevo, whose families emigrated from Czechoslovakia. He is survived by his wife of 49 years, Carol Lucas Drevo, daughter, Tracy Roski (Mark), two grandchildren, Shelby Klym (Joseph), and Zachary Roski (Elle), great-grandson, Thomas Ecker, a brother, Charles Norman Drevo (Lisa), a brother-in-law William Lucas (Colleen), as well as dozens of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. In addition to his parents, Bob was preceded in death by his brother-in-law and friend, Mike Lucas, in 2013.
Bob graduated from Northwestern High School in 1959, then proudly served his country in the United States Army National Guard from 1964-1970. He began a 30-year career with the D.C. Fire Department where he rose to the rank of Lieutenant, serving bravely and honorably until his retirement in 1995. Bob also volunteered with and worked for the Hyattsville Fire Department. After retirement, Bob worked for Gasch’s Funeral Home in Hyattsville, MD.
The family will receive visitors from 1-3 and 5-7 on Tuesday, October 7, 2025, at Stauffer Funeral Home in Mt. Airy, MD. A funeral mass will be held at St. Michael’s Church in Poplar Springs, MD on Wednesday, October 8, 2025, at 11:30 a.m.
