Robert N. Staley

Robert N. Staley, 87, of Frederick, passed away on Wednesday, September 17, 2025 at Kline Hospice House in Mt. Airy, MD. Born May 30, 1938 in Parkersburg, WV to the late William E. and Gladys Heffner Staley.

He is survived by his wife, of 65 years, Lenora F. Staley; and daughters, Brenda Bell and Robin Staley-Andrews (Darren); grandchildren, Derek Bell, Stephanie Hughes (Trevor), and Skylar Andrews (fiancé, Josh Noffsinger); great-grandchildren, Levi, Ruach and Koren Hughes; brothers and sisters, Larry “Eddie” Staley (Sandy), Rose Johnson, Doris “Jeanie” Handley (Phil), Harold “Sonny” Staley, Carol Walters and Daniel “Danny” Staley; and brother-in-law, Jim Kaiser; and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by sisters, Janet Harmon and Patricia “Patty” Kaiser; and son-in-law, Robert W. Bell, Jr.

Bobby was a lifelong mechanic in the Frederick area working at several local business including Sunoco, Kauffman’s Automotive, Ideal Farms Dairy, Fabricated Metals and opening his own business in 1977 Staley’s Repair where he was well known as the “Bug Doctor” to many customers.

He enjoyed spending time with his family going on beach vacations, or just having family dinners on Sundays. He also enjoyed attending Nascar races, local carnivals listing to music, car shows sometimes showing his VW Beetle, and The Great Frederick Fair. He was a lifelong member of the Frederick Elks #684 as well as a member of the Moose Lodge #371 where he enjoyed listening to bands and seeing many friends. In his early years he enjoyed attending and racing at the 75-80 Drag Strip in Monrovia.

Friends may visit family from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. on Wednesday, September 24, 2025 at Stauffer Funeral Home, 1621 Opossumtown Pike in Frederick. Funeral services will be held at 12 p.m. on Thursday, September 25, 2025 in the chapel at the funeral home with Rev. Tim May officiating. Final place of rest will be at Resthaven Memorial Gardens in Frederick.
