Robert A. Young, 80, of Boonsboro, Maryland, passed from this life on Friday, May 31, 2024 at Hagerstown Healthcare Center in Hagerstown.

Born on June 3, 1943, in Dickerson, Maryland, he was the son of the late Richard and Zora (Dove) Young.

Robert was a retiree from both the Maryland State Highway Administration and Montgomery County School Board.

He was a long-time active member of both the South Mountain Rod and Gun Club and the Catoctin Fish and Game Protective Association.

Robert is survived by wife of over 40 years, Mary Kate Young; his children, Robert B. Young and wife, Patrica, of Rohrersville, and Deborah Sue Griffith and husband, John, of Boonsboro; beloved grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

The family will receive friends and family from 6 to 8 p.m. on Saturday, June 8, 2024 at Bast-Stauffer Funeral Home, 7606 Old National Pike in Boonsboro.

Memorial donations may be made to the Resident’s Activities Department of the Fahrney-Keedy Home and Village in Boonsboro.
