Rodger Lane Schmidt

Rodger L. Schmidt, 88, of Fort Myers, Florida, passed from this life on Thursday, March 14, 2024 at Country Meadows in Frederick, Maryland.

Born on January 29, 1936, in Birmingham, Michigan, he was the son of the late Henry Schmidt and Virginia (Lane) Schmidt. 

A graduate of Michigan State University, Rodger mastered residential design and drafting and was hired by Bill Pulte of Pulte Homes.  Rodger went on to work independently and built custom homes in Montgomery County Maryland.

He is survived by his children, Susan Shuster, Christine Schmidt, Sandy Carretta, David Schmidt and Eric Schmidt and grandchildren Vanessa Schmidt, Erica Schmidt Connolly, Harrison Shuster, Zachary Shuster, Enzo Fuste, Michael Carretta and Samuel Carretta.

A graveside service will be held on Tuesday, March 19, 2024 at 1:00 pm, at All Souls Cemetery in Germantown, Maryland.
