Family meant everything to Pop.

Ronald Hayes “Fred,” “Ronnie,” and “Pop” Pearl, 72, of Brunswick, Maryland, passed away peacefully on August 26, 2026. He was born on March 12, 1954, in Maryland.

Pop was the beloved husband of Roberta “Bertie” Truitt Pearl, whom he married in 1973. Together, they shared 53 years of marriage, a lifetime of memories, and a beautiful family.

He was a loving father to Eric Pearl and his wife Rhonda, and Peggy Pearl. He was a proud grandfather to Tyler Pearl and his wife Corinne, Nolan Pearl, Bradley Pearl, Erica Ohler, and Conner Ohler. Pop was also a great-grandfather to Harper and Greyson, and he was especially proud and excited to welcome his newest twin great-granddaughters, Indy and Isla Pearl.

Family meant everything to Pop. He was incredibly proud of his children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren and loved nothing more than spending time with them. One of his greatest joys was watching his grandchildren play baseball and cheering them on from the sidelines. He was a devoted Baltimore Orioles fan and could often be found watching a game and enjoying every minute of it.

Pop will be remembered for his love of family, his pride in those he loved, his passion for baseball, and the countless memories he created with the people around him.

Pop had a lifelong love of baseball. He played baseball in his younger years and was part of the 1966 Brunswick Little League team, which is honored in the Brunswick Museum Hall of Fame. He also enjoyed giving back to the community as a girls’ softball coach.

Throughout his working years, Pop worked on the Smith Farm in Jefferson, Maryland, before retiring from the Frederick Gas Company.

Pop was preceded in death by his father, George “Fatboy” “Tom” Pearl, his mother, Betty Fisher, his favorite sister-in-law, Rene “Nae Nae” Butts, and his dear best friend, Vernon “Brownboy” Brown, along with many other family members and friends.

Pop will be remembered for his love of family, his pride in those he loved, his passion for baseball, and the countless memories he created with the people around him. He was a husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, father-in-law, brother-in-law, friend, coach, and so much more. To his family, he will always simply be Pop.

He will be deeply missed and forever loved.

The family will receive friends on Monday, August 31, 2026, from 12:00 to 2:00 PM at Stauffer Funeral Home, 1100 North Maple Avenue, Brunswick, where a funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM in the chapel of the funeral home.

Following the service, family and friends are invited to join us for a Celebration of Life at the Brunswick Eagles.
