Ronald "Ronnie" William Ahalt, Sr., 79, of Jefferson, Maryland, passed from this life on Saturday, June 27, 2026 at Frederick Health Hospital in Frederick, MD. He was the loving husband of Evelyn Ahalt for 22 years.

Born on September 18, 1946, in Frederick, MD he was the son of the late Amos Atlee and Helen Margaret (Morrison) Ahalt.

Ronnie was a contractor for Frederick County Public Schools for 30 years before working in the Transportation Department of Frederick County Public Schools for an additional 25 years. During his time as a contractor, he was also a member of the Frederick County Contractors Bus Association.

Ronnie was a life member of the Jefferson Volunteer Fire Company for over 50 years. During his time with the fire company, he held numerous positions including Lieutenant, Vice President, Board of Director, and was most recently made an honorary Board of Director.

He was a founding and charter member of the Central Maryland Antique Tractor Club and also a member of the International Harvesters Collectors Club Chapter 39. He was also a former member of the Heart of Maryland Tractor Pullers Club.

Ronnie was also a member of the Brunswick Eagles Aerie 1136 and a former member of the Jefferson Ruritan Club.

Ronnie had a love for farming and collecting/restoring antique tractors.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by son Ronald "Billy" William Ahalt Jr (Jennifer), son R. Mark Ahalt (Ashley), step-daughter Sarah Thacker (Paul), step-daughter Robin Harding (Ashton), and step-son Junior Schrodel (Shelby). He was the proud grandfather to Willie, Leann, Luke, Adrian, Loretta, Kinslee, and Ethan. Ronnie is also survived by numerous cousins and friends. He will also be missed by his cats and loyal companions Chuck and Two-Face.

He was predeceased by his brother Amos "Ben" Ahalt and previous wife Glenda "Pixie" Ahalt.

The family will receive friends from 2-4 pm and 6-8 pm on Thursday, July 2, 2026 at Stauffer Funeral Homes, P.A. (Brunswick), 1100 North Maple Avenue in Brunswick, MD.

A celebration of Ronald's life journey will take place at 11 am on Friday, July 3, 2026, at Stauffer Funeral Homes, P.A. (Brunswick). Rev. Tim May will officiate. Interment will be at Jefferson United Church of Christ Cemetery in Jefferson, MD.

Ronnie was not a fan of dressing up, therefore, suits and ties are not necessary.
