Rose Myers

Rose L. Myers, 86, of Hyattsville, Maryland, and formerly of Hagerstown, Maryland, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, January 26, 2022.

Born on December 10, 1935, in Hagerstown, she was the daughter of the late Oscar and Emma (Burger) Myers.

Rose was a 1953 graduate of Hagerstown High School.

She was formerly employed by the Verizon Telephone Company in Prince George's County, Maryland, as a telephone operator, retiring after 39 1/2 years of dedicated service. When Rose was younger, she was a member of the Girls Club of Hagerstown and was a member of the Telephone Pioneers of America, as well as the Moose Lodge #453 of College Park, Maryland.

Rose was an avid Washington Redskins fan, was adventurous, and loved to travel, including to Florida for 25 consecutive years.

Rose is survived by her friend, who was like a sister, Pauline J. "Polly" Coulter of Hyattsville; and by many nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sister, Juanita Bussard; and her brothers, William and Leonard Myers.

A celebration of life will held 1 p.m. Wednesday, February 2, 2022 at the Bast-Stauffer Funeral Home, 7606 Old National Pike, Boonsboro, Maryland.  The Rev. R. Thomas Fralin, Jr. will officiate. Final resting place ceremonies will be held at Rose Hill Cemetery in Hagerstown. The family will receive friends on Wednesday one hour prior to services at the funeral home.
