Roy Elwood Cline, Jr., 85, of Frederick, Maryland, passed from this life on Monday, January 2, 2023 at his home in Frederick, Maryland.

Born on November 12, 1937, in Frederick, he was the son of the late Roy Elwood Cline and Alta Georgetta (Null) Cline.

He was the loving husband of the late Mildred Louise Michael Cline who passed away on March 16, 2022.  They were married 54 years.

Roy graduated from Frederick High School, class of 1955.  He was an electrician who ended his career as an Electrical Inspector for Frederick County Government and was an avid hunter.

During the 1955-56 period Roy was in the Army; discharged from Reserves in 1963.  

He is survived by special nieces, Carole Ann Zimmerman and Barbara DeRocher, sister-in-law, Ida Boyd and dear friends, Janet and Keith Betts and their family in Canada. 

The family wishes to express their sincere appreciation to private caregivers, Nellie Miller and Lloyd Lambert, as well as Allison, April and other Hospice staff, and the Visiting Angels staff, who assisted him in the last months of his life.

A graveside service to inter both Mr. & Mrs. Cline will be held at Mount Olivet Cemetery, Frederick, MD on Thursday, March 16, 2023 at 11:00 a.m. Family and friends wishing to attend should meet at the Francis Scott Key Chapel (near the cemetery entrance) by 10:45 a.m.  The funeral will proceed to the graveside at that time.  Deacon Gail Wilson of Braddock Lutheran Church will officiate.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Frederick Health Hospice and St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
