Roza Pereska-Smith, 41, of Point of Rocks, Maryland, passed from this life on Wednesday, September 29, 2021, surrounded by her loving family at her home. She was the beloved wife of Randy Smith for 16 years.
Born on April 15, 1980, in Prilep, Republic of Macedonia, she was the daughter of Violeta (Josifoska) of Macedonia and the late Blagoja Pereski.
Roza attended Ss. Cyril & Methodius University in Skopje, Macedonia earning her Diploma as Professor in Macedonian and South Slavic Literature and Macedonian Language in 2006. She earned her Master of Arts in Teaching English for Speakers of Other Languages (TESOL) from University of Maryland, Baltimore County in 2018 and was selected for membership in the Phi Kappa Phi Honor Society.
Roza was a Teacher for Frederick County Public Schools in the English Learners Departments of Gov. Thomas Johnson and Frederick High Schools. Prior to that she had taught English as a Second Language at Frederick Community College.
In her free time Roza enjoyed spending time working in her gardens and planning the landscaping of her home. She was an avid woodworker and enjoyed restoring old furniture and other items and bringing them back to life. Roza’s favorite diversion; however, was traveling to new places with her husband to create memories for their two daughters.
In addition to her husband and mother she is survived by her daughters Yana and Ema Smith; and sister Lence Despotoska.
The family will receive friends from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm, to celebrate Roza's life journey, on Wednesday, October 6, 2021, at Stauffer Funeral Homes, P.A. (Fred), 1621 Opossumtown Pike in Frederick, MD.
Interment will be private.
