Ruth Lynne Hitchcock, a radiant spirit whose warmth and creativity will forever echo in the hearts of those fortunate enough to know her, passed away on December 4, 2025. Born on March 31, 1945, Lynne carried the charm of her small-town roots in Freeport, Pennsylvania, throughout her life.

A graduate of the class of 1963, Lynne began her professional journey as a typist at Geico. However, it was her role as a dedicated homemaker that truly defined her. In the comforting embrace of her home, she discovered the joys of baking and crocheting, filling her kitchen with the sweet aroma of maple & cinnamon rolls. With each lovingly made treat, she not only nourished her family but also created lasting memories.

Lynne's personality sparkled with a unique effervescence; she was upbeat, warm, and possessed an uncanny ability to befriend anyone she met. Those who knew her experienced firsthand her vivacious spirit, whether they joined her for evenings of bingo and cards or participated in her melodic presence as a member of her church choir. An outgoing and adventurous soul, Lynne thrived in the company of her loved ones, always seeking ways to celebrate moments both big and small.

Her family was the cornerstone of her life, and she took immense pride in her role as a mother to Ray Briggs, Samantha Gooding, and Keith Hitchcock. Lynne was also a proud grandmother to Destiny and William Allen and delighted in the joy of her three great grandchildren—Rebecca, Rose, and Grey Allen. Her legacy is further enriched by her various nieces and nephews who carry forth the spirit of her laughter and love.

Lynne’s unwavering commitment to her community shone brightly during her years of volunteering at the Providence United Methodist Church in Monrovia. She poured countless hours into contributing to the church through baking and crocheting, finding fulfillment in offering her time and effort, a testament to her generous heart and belief in uplifting others.

In addition to her many accomplishments, Lynne is now joined in eternal rest by her late husband, John Hitchcock, and her parents, Chester and Ruth Livengood, along with five siblings.

As we celebrate the life of Ruth Lynne Hitchcock, we are reminded of a woman who painted each day with kindness, embraced friendships with sincerity, and cherished the simple joys of life. Her memory is a fragrant blossom in the garden of her family and friends—a reminder that love spreads like the sweet aroma of cinnamon rolls, never truly fading, always lingering.
