Ruth “Ruthie” Jean Schneck- Reinhardt, 75, of Sharpsburg, Maryland, passed from this life on Saturday, October 4, 2025. She was the wife of William "Bill" Reinhardt.
Born on October 10, 1949, in Darby, PA, she was the daughter of the late Ervin W. and Viola Jean (Baker) Schneck.
After graduating from Interboro High School in Glenolden, PA, Ruthie attended American University in Washington D.C., graduating in 1971. She worked in the office of Parole & Probation for the Maryland Department of Public Safety and Correctional Services. Some of Ruthie’s hobbies included taking the camper to racetracks such as Watkins Glen (New York), Pocono Raceway (Pennsylvania) and Summit Point (West Virginia). She enjoyed biking and obtained her motorcycle license, using the motorcycle for local riding. An avid gardener, Ruthie spent a great deal of her free time outdoors working around the house. A lifelong fan of Philadelphia sports teams, Ruthie cheered on the Eagles, Phillies, 76ers and Flyers. Following retirement, Ruthie enjoyed traveling, including a trip out west which included a ride down the California coastline.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by a son, Erich (wife Laurie) Vogel, stepchildren, Mary (husband James) Hernandez and Thomas Reinhardt. She is also survived by her granddaughters Jenna and Carly Vogel, step-grandchildren, Charlie, Joey, Rosie, Violet and her sister Bonnie Stauber.
In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her brother Richard Schneck.
Memorial donations may be made to the Humane Society of Washington County.
A celebration of Ruthie's life journey will take place at a later date.
