Mrs. Shirley E. Pope, 74, of Mt. Airy died on Monday April 9, 2012 at Emeritus Senior Living, Westminster. She was the wife of the late Robert L. Pope Sr.
Born on January 9, 1938 in Charlottesville Virginia, she was the daughter of the late Thomas and Violet Shiflett Wood.
Surviving are her children, Robert L. Pope Jr., of Sterling, VA and Stephen W. Pope and wife Janet of Mt. Airy. Grandchildren, Morgan, Brandon, Elizabeth, Stephen, Jennifer, Joanna and Jolene. One sister Lucille Layman and husband Nelson of Gaithersburg.
Services and interment will be private.
