Spencer Gerald Stonestreet Jr., 85, of Waynesboro, PA, passed away peacefully September 6, 2025. Born October 19, 1939, in Fairmont, WV, he was the son of the late Spencer Gerald Stonestreet Sr. and Helen Bell (Smith) Emerick.
Spencer was a dedicated member of the Carpenter’s Union and proudly served as an instructor for the Carpenter & Joiner Apprenticeship program, where he mentored countless tradesmen. He retired from John H. Hampshire, where he worked as a commercial flooring project manager, respected for his work ethic, craftsmanship, and leadership.
Beyond his professional career, Spencer found joy in the outdoors and simple pleasures. He was an avid hunter, enjoyed boating, and was a lifelong fan of the Washington Redskins and NASCAR. His greatest happiness, however, came from time spent with his family.
He is survived by his devoted wife, Virginia Stonestreet; his children, Curtis Stonestreet (Judy), Bruce Stonestreet (Jeannine), Karen Lucia (Denny), Michael Lucia (Ashley), Kevin Lucia (Jessica), and William Lucia (Jodi). He was the proud grandfather of 24 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren. Spencer is also survived by his sister, Linda Kay Mitchell. He was preceded in death by his sister, Joyce Ann Barker.
Spencer’s legacy of love, hard work, and devotion to his family will live on in all who knew him.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Sunday, September 14, 2025, from 11:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. at the American Legion Gold Star Post 191 in Mount Airy, Maryland.
