February 23, 1920 — April 16, 2009
Hughes, Sr. Mary Bernard, SND de N, 89, died April 16 at Emmitsburg, MD. Her 70 years as a Sister of Notre Dame de Namur included 45 years as a secondary school teacher in Baltimore, Philadelphia, D.C.; she held several administrative positions as well.
She is survived by her sister, Eleanor McFadden of Drexel Hill, PA; a devoted niece, four nephews and her loving Sisters of Notre Dame.

Services:
Viewing will be held Wednesday, April 23, 2009 from 10 to 11 a.m. at the Villa Julie Residence, Stevenson, Maryland, where a Mass of Christian burial will be held at 11 a.m. Interment will be at 2 p.m. at the Sisters of Notre Dame Cemetery, Ellicott City, Maryland.
