Stacie C. Carey

Stacie C. Carey, 50, of Keymar, passed away on Tuesday, May 27, 2025 at The Johns Hopkins Hospital. She was the wife of Shawn Carey. Born on February 8, 1975, in Frederick, she was the daughter of Bernard Anthony and Barbara (Clarke) Anthony.

Stacie was an instructional assistant for Frederick County Public Schools, and worked at Middletown Primary School and Gov. Thomas Johnson High School, where she made lifelong connections with many of her coworkers who became friends. She was a 'sports mom', and developed many friends through supporting her children in their activities.

She was a member of Frederick Church of the Brethren.

In addition to her husband, Shawn, she is survived by her children: Gram Carey and Hailie Carey, both at home. She is also survived by her sons, Lewis Paul Johnson, Jr. of Pennsylvania and Cody Lewis of Thurmont; as well as her siblings: Deborah Norris, Bernard Anthony, Jr., Diane Freed, Kimberly Culp, Steven Anthony, and Kenneth Anthony.

The family will receive friends on Thursday, June 5, from 1:00 pm to 8:00 pm at Stauffer Funeral Home, 1621 Opossumtown Pike, Frederick. A funeral service will be held on Friday, June 6, 2025 at 11:00 am, at Stauffer Funeral Home, 1621 Opossumtown Pike, Frederick. Interment will be at Christ Reformed Church Cemetery in Middletown.
