Steve (Stefano) Michael Biancaniello

Steve (Stefano) Michael Biancaniello of Mount Airy, MD, passed away peacefully at home on May 23, 2023 after an 18 month long battle with Acute Myeloid Leukemia. 
He was 77. 

Steve was born on June 19, 1945 to Joseph Biancaniello and Gilda (D’amario) Biancaniello in Washington, DC. After Steve graduated from Northwest High School, he went on to join the US Air Force and studied Meteorology. 

Steve had a long career at IBM and Lockheed Martin as a systems analyst, and after retirement he went on to volunteer at American Legion Gold Star Post 191 in Mount Airy. He served there as the Finance Officer and Vice Commander for several years.

His favorite thing to do was to spend time with his four grandchildren.

He leaves behind his devoted wife of 42 years, Kathy (Anderson) Biancaniello, his daughter and son in law, Stefanie (Biancaniello) Cummings and Sean Cummings and their children, Tabitha, Paul, Peter and Esther Cummings. 

The family will receive friends on Friday, June 2, 2023 from 12:00pm to 2:00pm at the Stauffer Funeral Home, 8 East Ridgeville Blvd.,  Mount Airy, MD 21771 where a Celebration of Life Service will follow at 2:00pm at the funeral home.  The family would like to invite their friends and family for the rendering of Military honors and interment at Pine Grove Cemetery, 711 S. Main Street Mount Airy, MD 21771 and to continue the Celebration of Steve's Life at the Mt. Airy American Legion, 801 Prospect Road, Mount Airy, MD 21771.  If you will not be attending the interment services at the cemetery, please proceed to the American Legion where the family will join you immediately following the interment.
