Susan Lyons Payne

Susan Lyons Payne, 72, of New Market, Maryland, passed from this life on Tuesday, October 10, 2023 at Frederick Health Hospital. She was the wife of Richard Payne, her husband of 30 years.

Born on August 8, 1951, in Atlanta, GA, she was the daughter of the late William T. and Theresa Murray Lyons.

She was an administrative assistant prior to her marriage and children. Susan enjoyed designing Birthday and other greeting cards. She loved to travel and participating in church activities.

Surviving in addition to her husband, Richard are two children: Joseph Payne of Baltimore and Julia Payne of Montgomery County.
She was preceded in death by a brother William Lyons, Jr.

The family will receive friends from 4-7 PM on Sunday, October 15, at Stauffer Funeral Home, 1621 Opossumtown Pike, Frederick, MD 21702, where a celebration of Susan's life will take place at 11:00 AM on Monday, October 16.  Pastor Erik Santiago will officiate.  Interment will follow at Resthaven Memorial Gardens in Frederick, MD.
