Tanya Sophia Thielke

Tanya Sophia Thielke, 56, of Walkersville, Maryland, passed from this life on Saturday, February 8, 2025. 

Born on September 25, 1968, in Washington, DC, she was the daughter of John Robert and Elke Else (Froemel) Thielke.

Tanya Thielke grew up on classical music, beginning violin lessons at age 4, launching a life-long passion in music as a musician and composer.

She earned a master's degree in both Violin Performance and Fine Arts Music Composition from Bard College in New York. As "Tantroniq", Tanya's music is on BandCamp, SoundCloud, YouTube, and internet-radio.com. Tanya's magnum opus was an interdisciplinary work: After River, which combined music, narration, sound design and visuals. Known by friends and family as being humorous, kind, and creative, she is survived by her Husband Andrew, Daughter Nico, and longtime friend Doug.
