Teresa Catherine (Holzman) Wood, 95, of Myersville, Maryland, died Monday December 5, 2022 at her home, surrounded by loved ones.  She was the wife of Alvin Ralph Wood, who preceded her in death in 2006.

Born February 26, 1927 in Baltimore, Maryland, she was the eldest daughter of the late George Thomas and Elizabeth (Trewolla) Holzman.

Teresa was a graduate of Eastern High School Class of 1944 in Baltimore, Maryland.  She began work at the C&P Telephone Company as a stenographer, the day after she graduated.  After marrying Alvin R. Wood, the love of her life, on August 12, 1948, Teresa began her most important job as a wife and mother to her family.  She was an incredible cook and baker; she also loved to read and design projects to further improve her home.  She was a member of Holy Family Catholic Church in Middletown.

She is survived by her four children, Alvin T. Wood and wife Sherry of Maugansville, Steven J. Wood and wife Rose of Greencastle, Terrianne Ridenour of Myersville, and Neil F. Wood and wife Allison of Boonsboro; eight grandchildren, Marcie (Wood) Burleson, Matthew Wood, Amie (Ridenour) Stann, Stephanie (Wood) Spencer, Corinne (Ridenour) Blanford, Michael Wood, Benjamin Wood, and Jonathan Wood; eighteen great-grandchildren and sister Lois Anne Will.  She will also be remembered by her numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

She was preceded in death by her sister, Mary Rose Wood and her cousin Betty Ann Donaldson.

The family will receive friends from 10:00 am to 11:00 am followed immediately by a celebration of Teresa’s life on Saturday, December 17, 2022, at Stauffer Funeral Homes, 1621 Opossumtown Pike in Frederick, Maryland.
