Terri Linn Sexton, 69, of Jefferson, Maryland, passed away at home on Thursday, August 7th, 2025, surrounded by family, after a courageous battle with cancer.
Born on February 16, 1956, in Wilkinsburg, PA, she was the daughter of the late Kenneth Joseph Steiner and the late Carolyn Marie (Baltzer) Steiner. Terri was one-of-kind. She never met a stranger - she could strike up a conversation with anyone, radiated genuine love, and embraced people with kindness. She was a daughter, a sister, a mother, a grandmother, a friend, a neighbor, and so much more to many.
She spent decades working in the cosmetology industry doing hair and helping others feel and look their best. Terri was an avid reader, animal-lover, loved to be outdoors, and, in her later years, loved caring for her granddaughters. She was also a dedicated team member at Collective Church. Both inside and outside of the church, you could find her loving on and caring for children from her community.
She is survived by her son, Kenneth Jacob (Jake) Sexton and wife Danielle; granddaughters, Nora and June; her siblings, Randall (Randy) Steiner, Lauren (Lori) Fazio, and Sandra (Sandy) LaFever; her nieces, nephews; and many more extended family members and friends who will miss her deeply. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her son, Michael Edward Sexton Jr.
The family will receive friends at 6:00 p.m. on Friday, September 19th at Collective Church, 5103 Pegasus Court in Frederick to celebrate the life of Terri with memories and one of her favorite things to do - singing and worshipping Jesus.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Frederick Rescue Mission or Collective Church, or simply take a moment to turn on your favorite worship song and praise God.
