Thomas Lee McGinley

With great sorrow and deep sadness, Thomas Lee McGinley, a true gift from God, was unexpectedly taken from us after a tragic accident on Sunday, May 25, 2025 in New Market, MD.

Thomas was born on October 29, 2004 in Columbia, MD. He graduated from Urbana High School in 2022. He was a sports enthusiast with a passion for weightlifting that found him at Hometown Barbell Gym with a wonderful community he adored. He had future plans to work towards his personal trainer certificate and starting his own business.

Thomas‘ smile and positive energy was contagious. He always gave you the time of day regardless of who you were. He brought warmth and laughter to everyone around him. He gave the best hugs!

He is survived by his loving parents, Christopher and GleeAnn, and his younger brother, James. He is survived by his loving grandparents, Rosalee McGinley, Jacqueline Lathos-Markham, and step-grandfather, John Markham. He was preceded in death by his grandfathers, Michael L. McGinley and James W. Lathos.

He will forever be deeply missed by his favorite uncles and aunts, Lee and Liz McGinley, David and Elena Lathos, and James and Sheila Lathos. His memory will live on with his cousins, Mason, Marissa, and Austin, Camden and Renzo, and Jordan and Mazzy, including a host of beloved friends.

The family will be receiving friends at the Stauffer Funeral Home, 1621 Opossumtown Pike, Frederick, MD on Saturday, June 28th from 1:00 pm – 5:00 pm. A Celebration of Life to honor Thomas will follow at Green Meadows Petting Farm, 10102 Fingerboard Road, Ijamsville, MD, from 5:30 pm – 11 pm.
