Valerie Anne Porter

Valerie Anne Porter, 69, of Mount Airy, Maryland, passed from this life on Monday, September 5, 2022 at Johns Hopkins Hospital in Baltimore, MD.
She was the wife of David Ross Porter, her husband of 46 years.

Born on December 12, 1952, in England, she was the daughter of the late Merrit B. Holmes and Laura E. Thomas Holmes.

Though she did work as a secretary for the US Government, she was primarily a homemaker.

Valerie enjoyed trips to the beach, gardening and eating crabs.

Surviving in addition to her husband are two children: Brad Porter and wife Myriangie of Poolesville and Charlotte Porter of Mt. Airy; three grandchildren: Lyla York, Autumn Porter and Mason Porter; a sister Melissa Watkins of Petersburg, WV 

The family will receive friends from 12-1 PM on Sunday, September 11, 2022 at Stauffer Funeral Home, 8 East Ridgeville in Mt. Airy, MD where a celebration of her life will begin at 1:00 PM.  Interment will follow at Parklawn Memorial Park in  Rockville, MD.
