Vaughan de Leigh Baldwin

Vaughan De Leigh Baldwin (Leigh) 86, resident of Tranquillity of Fredericktowne in Frederick Maryland, passed away on September 21, 2025. Born in Durham, NC in 1939, Leigh was the daughter of the late Erbie William Mangum and Myrtle Lee Starling Mangum. Leigh graduated from Durham High School in 1957. She was married to Cullen Baldwin in 1958 and they lived most of their lives together in Laurel, Md until his death in 2006.

Leigh was a homemaker for the majority of her life, but did enjoy working as a receptionist at different times in her life. Leigh mostly enjoyed spending time with her family and friends. She loved attending church and community groups, cooking, shopping, and traveling with her late husband to Florida, Mexico, and Saint Martin.

Leigh is survived by her son Michael W. Baldwin (Susan) of Jefferson Md, son Edward Baldwin (Cathy) of Pasadena Md, granddaughters Angela Baldwin, Julia Wren (Chris), grandsons Matthew Baldwin (Kristin), and Michael D. Baldwin, and 3 great-grandchildren. She will also be remembered by her many good friends in the Laurel Md area.

In addition to her parents and husband, Leigh was preceded in death by her brother, Erbie W. Mangum, Jr, her sister, Carolyn Rigsbee and her brother, Forest Mangum.

The family would like to thank the entire staff of Tranquillity and Dr Gilson for their loving care of Leigh for the several years she was a resident of Tranquillity.

The family will receive friends on Monday, September 29, 2025 from 10-11 am at Stauffer Funeral home, 1621 Opossumtown Pike, Frederick, MD where a celebration of Leigh's life journey will begin at 11 am.  Rev. Tim May will officiate.
