Vera "Pat" Smith

Vera Dale “Pat” Smith, 84, of Walkersville, MD passed away peacefully at home on August 26, 2026. 

She was married to her beloved husband, Donald Smith, for 67 years. Pat was born and grew up in Frederick, MD. She lived in Walkersville, MD for the last 57 years. 

Pat leaves behind a legacy of love and devotion to family and friends. She dedicated her life to caring for her family. Her granddaughters, Natalie and Jenna, were her greatest joy, and she was so proud of the amazing young women they have become. She had a deep passion for helping others and was always there for anyone who needed her — always giving freely of her time, talents and love. Her selflessness and generosity left a lasting mark on everyone she met. 

In addition to her beloved husband Donald, she is survived by her daughter Terri Smith Miner and husband David; and her granddaughters, Natalie and Jenna Miner. She is also survived by many nieces, nephews, and great-nieces and nephews.

Pat was predeceased by her parents Roger Mills, Jr. and Charlotte Mills; her sister Sherry Beall; and her brother Roger Mills, III. 

A memorial service will be held on Tuesday, September 8th at 1:00 pm at Stauffer Funeral Home, 40 Fulton Avenue, Walkersville.
