Vicki Yanez, 79, of Frederick, Maryland, passed from this life on Tuesday, May 19, 2026 at Frederick Health Hospital in Frederick, MD. She was the wife of Carlos O. Yanez her husband of 50 years.

Born on March 9, 1947, in Frederick, MD, she was the daughter of the late Richard Jackson and Beryl E. (Gordon) Jackson.

Vicki was a graduate of Frederick High School, Class of 1965. While working for the Federal Government, she took various upper mobility training classes associated with her technical editorial positions.

Vicki initially started her career with the Federal Government after graduating from high school with the Atomic Energy Commission (AEC), and then moved on to the Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC), where she retired from in 2005 after 40 years of dedicated civil service.

Vicki was a member of the Evangelical Lutheran Chruch, Frederick American Legion, NARFE, Owl’s Club, and the Elk’s Lodge.

She was a kind, caring individual who went out of her way for all of her friends, family members, and those people she cared for highly. She enjoyed meeting with people and developing a friendly bond with them. She was an avid reader and talker. She was considerate and giving of her love by making sure those she cared for always had birthday & Christmas cards and gifts. She was always there for her friends to talk to and go out with.

Surviving in addition to her husband are her daughter, Kristina Yanez, and grandson, Damon Haak. As well as her sister, LouAnn Cannon and husband Chris Cannon, niece Jackie Hoffman and husband Tyler Hoffman, her great-niece Cami, and great-nephew Cooper. Her husband’s family in California, as well as many other maternal and paternal cousins and family members.

The family will receive friends from 4:00 pm to 7:00 pm on Thursday, May 28, 2026 at Stauffer Funeral Home, 1621 Opossumtown Pike in Frederick, MD.

The church service for Vicki will take place at 1:00 pm on Friday, May 29, 2026, at Evangelical Lutheran Church, 31 E. Church Street in Frederick, MD. Rev. Mark Cerniglia will officiate. Interment will be at Mount Olivet Cemetery in Frederick, MD. A celebration of Vicki's life journey will be held afterward at the American Legion on Taney Ave. in Frederick, Maryland.
