Ginny Carlson

Virginia "Ginny" Carlson, 74, of Frederick, Maryland, passed away at North Hampton Manor after a lingering illness. July 18, 2026. Ginny was married to her high school sweetheart, Thom Carlson. She was born and raised in Montgomery County, Maryland, where she graduated from Wheaton High School in 1969. She continued her education at Johns Hopkins University School of Nursing. As a compassionate nurse, she brought her integrity and joy to every patient she treated.

She loved her family, immediate and extended. Every holiday, birthday, and special event was an opportunity for her to celebrate her family. Ginny is survived by her only child, Sam Carlson; her two sisters, Kathryn Marcello (W. David) and Nancy Naiman (Kerry), and her brother, Robert Mothershed (Hope H.). She doted on her nephews Matthew, Michael, Mitchell, Bobby, Kevin, and her niece, Peggy. She was predeceased by her husband, Thom, and her siblings, Frank and Mary. Ginny was also known for her love of pets. 

During her life she had countless dogs of every size and breed, beginning with “Snowball"  Cats and kittens were also recipients of her love. 

The family will receive friends from 1:00 pm to 2:00 pm on Wednesday, July 29, 2026 at Stauffer Funeral Homes, 40 Fulton Avenue in Walkersville, Maryland. A graveside service will be held on Wednesday, July 29, 2026, at 2:30 pm at Glade Cemetery in Walkersville, Maryland.
