Mr. Wendell C. Hoover, 61, of Walkersville, died on Thursday, April 5, 2007 at Frederick Memorial Hospital. He is survived by his wife of 36 years Beverly Jo ( Price ) Hoover.

Born on September 21, 1945 in Baltimore, MD he was the son of the late Dick and Gertrude (Bauer) Hoover. Mr. Hoover was a member and elder of Catoctin Christian Church. He also served as Chaplain at Frederick Memorial Hospital. He was a member of the Frederick Ministerial Association, was previously on the Board of Directors of Kentucky Christian University. He was a graduate of the University of Charleston the former Morris Harvey College, earning a degree in Economic Geology. Mr. Hoover was a financial consultant with Smith Barney.
He was a model train enthusiast and a member of the Model Trains American Flyer, and a member of the Shriners and the Columbia Masonic Lodge. He was family oriented, devoted to his grandchildren and enjoyed gardening for relaxation.

Surviving beside his wife are 2 daughters, Lynn Kristin Cooper and husband Richard of
Columbus, OH., Susan Erika Atkisson and husband James of Ridgeley, WV.; 6 grandchildren,
Kelsey Hart, Ricky Cooper, Price Cooper, Autumn, Christian and Beau Atkisson; 2 sisters, Nancy Hoover of Protland, OR, Joan Heady of Abingdon, VA.; his mother and father in law, Sam and Wanda Price of Elkins, WV. Mr. Hoover will be remembered by special friends, Bruce and Helen Sheppard, Rudy and Penny Knapp and Bob and Starr Myklebust.

Visitation: Family will receive friends at the Stauffer Funeral Home, 1621 Opossumtown Pike, Frederick, MD. on Monday, April 9, from 6:00 to 9:00 p.m.

Services: Services will be held at the funeral home on Tuesday April 10 at 11:00 a.m. with his pastor, Rev. Kenneth Gossnell officiating. Graveside services will be held on Wednesday, April 11 at 1:00 p.m. at Maplewood Cemetery, Elkins, WV.
