William “Bill” Terrence Raymond, Sr., 81, of Frederick, MD, passed away on Thursday, February 19, 2026 at Johns Hopkins Hospital in Baltimore. Bill was born on June 2, 1944 in Buffalo, New York to John Joseph Raymond and Kathryn Dowd Raymond. Bill graduated from Siena College in Albany, New York in 1969. Bill had a lifelong career as a Certified Public Accountant with Washington Metro Area Transit Authority Auditor General’s Office, which he loved. He started his accounting career at the Peat, Marwick, and Mitchell Accounting Firm both in New York and Washington, DC.
Bill married Linda Snyder Raymond on November 26, 1970 and started a family, living in Fairfax County, Virginia. He moved his family to Frederick, Maryland in 1979 and tried his hand at gentleman farming, giving his children the unique life experiences and the feel of hard work. Bill commuted daily to Washington, DC but made time to coach both of his sons in baseball and recording every sporting event. Bill enjoyed horses and became a member of the Rose Hill Carriage Society, providing carriage rides through Frederick at Christmas and bringing St. Nicholas into Frederick for many years.
Bill is survived by his wife of 55 years, Linda, his three children, Joanie Raymond Brubaker (husband Jeff), William T. Raymond, Jr. (Amy), and Larry Raymond (Erin), and his grandchildren, Andrew M. Raymond, Jackson K. Raymond and Sophia M. Raymond. He is also survived by his sisters, Joan Vreeland and Mary Tash and brother Dr. Lawrence Raymond (Claire). He is predeceased in death by his brothers, John “Jack” Raymond, Kevin Raymond, and Patrick Raymond.
Bill cherished his dear friends and partners in service, Ron Pitts, Phil Coangelo, and Mike Yoho. He hopes to be reunited in Heaven with his parents, brothers, and favorite dog Cassie.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Snyder-Robinson Foundation, Kline Hospice House in Frederick, Samaritan’s Purse, or St. Joseph on Carrollton Manor Catholic Church.
