William M. Kroshl

William Mark Kroshl passed away on May 19th, 2026. Husband of Christina Arlene Kroshl. He was the son of the late William John Kroshl and the late Dorothy Grace Kroshl. He was born on March 17th 1954. He graduated from Northwestern University in June 1975. The next day he was commissioned in the U.S. Navy which he served in until September 1997.

In December of 1975 he married Christina Kroshl, the love of his life for more than 50 years. He earned his Masters from the Naval Post Graduate school in June 1988. After serving in the Navy he went to work at John Hopkin’s University Applied Physics Laboratory. During the Summer of 2014, William Kroshl earned his Ph.D. from George Washington University.

In addition to his wife, William Kroshl is survived by his four children: Dr. Jennifer Nadine Kroshl-Slim, Heather Elaine Kroshl-Croydon and her husband Matthew George Croydon, William James Kroshl, along with Mark Christopher Kroshl and his wife Kara Elaine Kroshl. He has the following six grandchildren: Bradford Mohmmed Slim, Claire Grace Slim, Liam James Slim, Ethan Ahmed Slim, Phoenix Vaelyn Croydon, and Ryan James Croydon.

William Kroshl enjoyed teaching and mentoring. For hobbies he liked woodworking and reading.

The family will receive friends from 5-8 PM on Friday June 5 at Stauffer Funeral Home, 8 E. Ridgeville Blvd, Mt Airy, MD 21771. A Memorial Mass will be held at 11:00 Am on Saturday, June 6 at St. Michael's Catholic Church at Poplar Springs, 1125 St. Michael;s Road, Mt. Airy, MD.
