It is with profound sadness that the family of William Frederick Bush announces his peaceful passing on September 21, 2025, at the age of 85, in his home surrounded by loved ones.
William Frederick Bush was born in Syracuse, NY on August 13, 1940. William Frederick Bush was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather, leaving behind a legacy of love, compassion, and faith.
William Frederick Bush was known for his unwavering conviction, generosity, and strength surrounding his faith and family values. He volunteered his time in service of his church community and lecturing at mass.
William Frederick Bush held the title as a Grand Knight with the Knights of Columbus (4th degree) at St. Anthony Shrine and Our Lady of Mount Carmel council.
William Frederick Bush retired honorably after more than 20 years from the US Navy. He held Expeditionary and National Defense Service Medals as well as Good Conduct Awards. William Frederick Bush earned a master’s degree in mechanical engineering from Purdue University.
William Frederick Bush is preceded in death by his wife, Carole Ann Bush, mother, Helen E Bush (Burgun), father, William JF Bush, brother, Joseph R Young and daughter, Bonnie L Bush-Schaffer.
William Frederick Bush is survived by his sons and daughter’s in-law, William and Betty Bush, Scott and Cassandra Bush, 7 grandchildren, Michael, Brendan, Ashleigh and husband Justin, Jacob, William, Gwendolyn, Elliott, and son-in-law James Schaffer, sister-in-law Beverly Wolford, as well as nieces and nephews.
The family invites you to his viewing on Saturday, September 27, 2025, @ 11:00am followed by a funeral mass in his honor @ 12:00pm, at St. Anthony Shrine, 16150 St. Anthony Rd #5, Emmitsburg, MD 21727.
