William Arvid Zboyan

William Arvid Zboyan passed away suddenly of natural causes on January 18, 2023 in Cambridge, MD while on vacation. 

William, known as Bill, was born on Feb 6th 1950 in Perth Amboy, NJ to the late Arvid Zboyan and Marie Ksiazek Zboyan. He spent most of his life in Maryland around the Baltimore and Frederick areas. He later retired in Hedgesville, WV. 

Bill attended St. Joseph’s Monastery School, Mount Saint Joseph High School and Baltimore County Community College. He had a lengthy career in the automotive service industry. He was one of the first ASE certified technicians in the state of MD in the early 70’s. Bill was well known for his auto expertise, technical capability, and customer service. He had a passion for helping others and enjoyed the relationships throughout his years in the industry.

He is survived by his wife, Joann Fritter Zboyan, formerly of Catonsville, MD; and son, Dan Zboyan of Frederick; sister, Patricia Wieczynski; and nieces and nephews, Sandra McMullen, Anthony Reeves and his daughter, Amelia, and Megan McMullen, David and Chrissy Wieczynski, Scott Wieczynski, Marguerite Munker, Donna Lankford and David Lankford.

Bill enjoyed Formula One Racing, camping, fast cars, model railroading, and a good sense of humor. He also had a great appreciation for animals and nature. In his retirement, he enjoyed walking, cooking and spending time working on vintage cars with his son Dan. He also enjoyed talking about vintage stereos and music. Bill was always a good provider to his family and very kind to people. He also leaves behind two small dogs, Gizmo and Coco. 

A Celebration of Life will begin at 4 p.m. followed by a meal at 5 p.m. on Saturday, February 11, 2023 at the American Legion FSK Post 11, 1450 Taney Avenue, Frederick. Please join our family to share some of your favorite memories and stories of Bill.
