William Zimmerman Stauffer
October 2, 1918 — January 4, 2007
William Zimmerman Stauffer, 88 of Walkersville, Maryland passed away Thursday, January 4, 2007. He was the husband of Katharine Elizabeth Myers Stauffer. They were married 64 years.
Born October 2, 1918 in Walkersville, MD he was the son of the late Ralph W. Stauffer, Sr. and Oda Zimmerman Stauffer.
Mr. Stauffer was a member of the Glade United Church of Christ in Walkersville. He retired as a business administrator, secretary- treasurer of Floyd L. Culler, Inc.
He served in the United States Army in the European Theater during World War II.
He was a member of the Lynch Lodge #163 AF &AM, the Elks Lodge #684, The American Legion Francis Scott Key Post #11, the Veterans of Foreign Wars John. R. Webb Post and a past president of the Catoctin Club. . Mr. Stauffer was a Life Member of the Walkersville Volunteer Fire Department and a past chairman of the Walkersville Republican District Committee.
He was a devoted uncle and will be remembered by his niece Sue M. Stine and husband Michael, a nephew, John F. Mainhart and wife Susan, as well as grandchildren, Michael, Joshua and Lara Stine, Christina M. Roppolo and Lindsey Mainhart, great grandchildren, Brianna, Ashleigh, Kylie and Richard Roppolo, his sisters, Catherine S. Feaga and husband Monroe of Frederick and Margaret S. Naney and husband Albert of St. Michael's, sister-in-law, Betty Stauffer of Rosemont. He will also be remembered by his other numerous nieces and nephews.
He is preceded in death by brothers, Ralph W. Stauffer, Jr., R. Monroe Stauffer, Carl M. Stauffer and a sister C. Beattie Stauffer.

Visitation: The family will receive friends at the Stauffer 40 Fulton Ave., Walkersville, MD on Sunday. January 7, 2007 from 2-4 and 7-9 PM.
Services:
Funeral services will be held on Monday, January 8, 2007 at 11:00 AM at Glade United Church of Christ, 21 Fulton Ave. with the Rev. Dr. Gerald C. Hanberry officiating.
Interment will be in Mt. Olivet Cemetery
