Yolanda “Yo” June Foosness, 78, of Middletown, Maryland, passed away peacefully on February 28, 2026. She was born in Duluth, MN, to Andrew Jack and Mary Scheall. She met the love of her life, Timothy Foosness, and they married on October 25, 1966. They began their life together in Virginia, MN, raising their daughter. After a period of her husband’s military service, they returned to Virginia, where they welcomed a son. Soon after, Yolanda opened and operated her own hair salon until the family relocated to Maryland in 1985. They made their home there for the remainder of her life, building a household filled with love, family, and cherished traditions. After moving to Maryland, she worked as an administrative business manager for several doctors, contributing her skill and dedication to their practices. In addition, she was a member of Evangelical Lutheran Church in Frederick, MD. She was happiest surrounded by her family, delighting in every celebration from birthdays to holidays to her cherished tradition of decorating Christmas cookies each year. Her love was often shown through her knitting, as she created blankets, hats, and booties for every new baby, along with cozy sweaters and scarves for family members. She also loved traveling, sewing, baking, and relaxing on her patio swing. Her love extended to all members of her family, including her treasured dog, Chet, who was her constant companion.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her son, Dale Foosness; siblings, Diana Eiman, Andrew Scheall, and Melode DeKam; and many cherished in-laws and family members.
She is survived by her loving husband, Timothy Foosness; daughter, Tama Plombon (Daniel); granddaughter, Savanna Plombon (Christopher); grandson, Blair Plombon (his partner, Michelle); great-grandchildren, Aila Pearl and Edison Graham; siblings, Idilla “Poppy” Meek, Nita Laney (Jerry), and Steven Scheall; her beloved in-laws, as well as numerous nieces, nephews, and friends who were like family.
The family will receive friends on Friday, March 13, 2026, at 10:00 a.m., with a memorial service to follow at 11:00 a.m., at Stauffer Funeral Home, 1621 Opossumtown Pike, Frederick, Maryland.
