Mrs. Ada B. Brooks, 100 of Jefferson, Maryland went home to be with her Lord and Savior on Wednesday, December 5th, 2012. She was the wife of the late Howard J. Brooks.
Born September 29, 1912 in Tidewater, VA she was the daughter of the late Samuel Horace Schools and Ada Fannie Self Schools.
She was a member of Landover Hills Baptist Church in Landover, MD for over 60 years. She was a Sunday School teacher and sang in the church choir. She also sang in the Billy Graham choir when he came to Washington, DC.
She was a 1930 graduate of Farnham High School and was the Valedictorian of her class.
Ada worked in the accounts payable department for Woodward and Lothrop in Washington, DC and retired after 27 years to care for her husband and parents at home.
Ada's joy was in serving her Lord Jesus Christ and by helping others. She dedicated her life to meeting the needs of those around her and she will be greatly missed by all.
She is survived by her daughter, Jane Lieberman of Jefferson, grandchildren, Harold "Bud" Lieberman, Lisa Deener, and John Lieberman, great grandchildren, Blaine Lieberman, Amanda Deener, and Michael Deener.
She is preceded in death by a brother, Andrew Thomas Schools.
The family will receive friends at the Stauffer Funeral Home, 1100 North Maple Ave., Brunswick on Friday, December 7th from 3:00-6:00PM where a memorial service will begin at 5:30PM with Pastor Ken Stalls officiating.
Funeral services will be held on Monday, December 10 at 10:00AM at Landover Hills Baptist Church, 4420 73rd Ave., Landover Hills, MD with Pastor Dave Griesemer officiating.
Interment will be in Farnham Baptist Church Cemetery, Farnham, VA and her nephew Pastor Neale Schools will conduct the graveside service.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Landover Hills Baptist Church, 4420 73rd Ave., Landover Hills, MD 20784.
