Alice Jane Marshall Griffith, age 88, of 14 Schoolhouse Court, Boonsboro, died Monday, April 20, 2009, at Reeders Memorial Home in Boonsboro.
Born March 15, 2009, in Washington County, MD, Alice was a daughter of the late John Siebert and Martha Ella Ely Marshall.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Martin L. Griffith Sr. on June 25, 1963.
Alice was formerly employed by L'aiglon in Hagerstown and Londontown Manufacturing in Boonsboro.
She was a member of Mt. Lena United Methodist Church and the church's Apple Dumpling Gang.
Alice is survived by three daughters, Joyce Y. Quinn and husband Gerard of Chambersburg, PA, JoAnn G. Kaetzel of Rohrersville, and Rebecca S. Morris and husband Gregory of Sharpsburg; three sons, Martin L. Griffith Jr. of Williamsport, Richard L. Griffith and wife Sharon of Ft. McCoy, Fla., and Ronnie L. Griffith and wife Bess of Kerville, Texas; three nieces, Betty Adkins of Middletown, MD, Leona Violet of Boonsboro, and Lettie Drenner of Sharpsburg; 21 grandchildren; 26 great-grandchildren and 55 great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by one daughter, Marian E. Ward; two sisters, Edith Churchey and Martha Jamison; and one brother, Charles Marshall.
Funeral services will be held 2 P.M. Friday at Bast-Stauffer Funeral Home in Boonsboro. Pastor Ray Dudley will officiate. Burial will be in Mountain View Cemetery in Sharpsburg.
The family will receive friends from 1 to 2 P.M. Friday at the funeral home.
