Anna Mae Stottlemyer, 85, of Boonsboro, Maryland, passed from this life on Tuesday, October 29, 2019 near her home in Mt. Lena. Her husband, Roger E. Stottlemyer, preceded her in death in 2012.
Born on March 6, 1934, in Myersville, she was the daughter of the late Ezra D. and Rosa G. Hoffman Flook.
Anna Mae was a member of Mt. Lena United Methodist Church, where she and her late husband organized the Senior Citizens meetings. She was a member of the Apple Dumplin Gang and traveled on mission trips to build churches. Anna Mae had a knack for nurturing, growing and arranging flowers in her home garden and then happily shared them with her church family for Sunday services and other church events.
She had several home businesses in the Mt. Lena community. She owned and operated Anna Mae's Beauty Salon and Greenbrier Crafts and Gifts.
Anna Mae is survived by her children, Jennifer A. May and husband, Roy, of Inwood, WV, David E. Stottlemyer of Mt. Lena and Craig A. Stottlemyer and wife, Kristine, of Coopersburg, PA; three grandsons, Kenneth May and wife, Kaitlyn, of Frederick, Matthew Stottlemyer of Coopersburg and Mark Stottlemyer and wife, Emily, of Oceanside, CA; one great-grandson, Luke; brothers, Clarence Flook and wife, Elsie, Leon Flook and wife, Martha, and Richard Flook and wife, Josephine; and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her brothers, Ezra Flook, Jr., J. Edwin Flook and Carroll Flook; and her sisters, Minnie Routzahn, Mary Faulders and Rachel Trail.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. on Monday, November 4, 2019 at Bast-Stauffer Funeral Home, 7606 Old National Pike in Boonsboro.
A celebration of Anna's life journey will take place at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, November 5, 2019, at Mt. Lena United Methodist Church in Mt. Lena with Rev. Ronald R. Kurtz officiating. Final resting place ceremonies will be held at the adjoining church cemetery.
Memorial donations may be made to Mt. Lena United Methodist Church, 21234 Mt. Lena Road, Boonsboro, MD 21713.
