Avis Young

Avis Albert Young, 88, of Frederick, passed away peacefully on Friday, April 21, 2017.  He was born January 13, 1929 in Charleston, West Virginia to the late Murphy and Beatrice Mitchell Young.
Mr. Young worked at the Roney Motor Company in Frederick, MD for over 25 years where he was a Dodge/Chrysler/Plymouth mechanic.   He later went on to work at Jones Motor Company in Mt. Airy, and he retired from Tate Chrysler Jeep Dodge in Frederick.  Prior to starting out as a mechanic, Mr. Young served in the United States Army and was a veteran of the Korean War.  He loved working on cars, taking care of his yard, and visiting with friends and family.
Surviving are his wife of 62 years, Dorothy Young and daughter Heather Scheuerman and husband Robert of Ijamsville; four grandchildren, Eric Young Jr., Brad Doyle, Darren Zaharoff, Paige Zaharoff; and several great grandchildren, cousins and friends.  He was predeceased by his son Eric Young and daughter Diane Van Vleck; as well as, sisters Cora Young and Loretta Kimmel; and brothers Rawley and John Young.
Private inurnment will be held at a later date.
