Bernard Wills

March 9, 1930 — April 17, 2021

Bernard Edwin Wills passed on April 17,2021 at the age of 91. He was born to Kate Clements Wills McLean and Edwin Wills on March 9, 1930 in Washington D.C. He retired from the Federal government in 1994 and  pursued his passion for music. He played the alto sax and clarinet for the Goldenairs and for the Olney Band until he was 88.  He loved family gatherings, food, dogs and was an avid reader, historian and a loyal fan of the Washington Football Team.
Bernard, or Bernie to his friends, and “Uncle B” to everyone else is survived by his nieces and nephews: Robert W. Frankeberger, his wife Maryann, Cheryl F. Neff, her husband, Thomas L. Neff, Stephen A. Frankeberger, Carolyn Jean Frankeberger, Tempella Ann Reynolds, Jordan Reynolds, Rylan Reynolds, Chalbeth Reynolds. Summerlyn Reynolds, his sister Sharon Reynolds and her husband Richard, as well as his great nieces and nephews: Angela M. Frankeberger, Derek A. Frankeberger, Thomas B. Neff & wife Kelly, Steven A. Neff & wife Lisa, Robert D. Neff & wife Judy and friends, Bill Brown, Carolyn Jones Frankeberger and George Khalsa.

The family would like to thank Montgomery Hospice and, a special thanks to his home health assistant, Paula Reid and her team, and his Asbury nurse, Alvina for the loving care they provided to him over the past several months.

Due to COVID, there will be a small, private funeral for family at the Stauffer Funeral Home, 8 E. Ridgeville Blvd. Mount Airy, MD 21771 on Wednesday, April 21, 2021 at 10:00 am.
Interment will follow at Cedar Hill Cemetery, Suitland, MD.

Social distancing and mask requirements will be necessary.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the Kidney Foundation of Maryland, http://www.kidneymd.org/

Expressions of sympathy may be offered to the family at www.staufferfuneralhome.com.
