Bernard Nathaniel "Buddy" Kave

Bernard Nathaniel "Buddy" Kave, 85, of Boonsboro, Maryland, passed from this life on Thursday, April 1, 2021 at his residence surrounded by his loving family.

Born on January 19, 1936, in West Virginia, he was the son of the late Robert Lee Kave, Sr. and Margaret Louise (Howell) Kave.

He was the loving husband of Mildred (Shorty) Kave, his wife of 64 years.

Buddy was a veteran of the US Army, serving in Korea.  He was employed with Statton furniture and retired from Mack Truck after working there 29 years.

He was a member of Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church, Clopper Michael Post #10 and former post commander, Boonsboro Red Men Tribe #155, UAW and Boonsboro Ambulance Company.  He was also a coach for several years at South Mountain Little League and served as president.
Buddy enjoyed camping, fishing, gardening and wood working.  He was a friend to everyone and always willing to lend a helping hand.

In addition to his wife, Mildred he is survived by his children, Kim Nally (Anthony) and Douglas Kave (Shelly); grandsons, Keith Overdorff  (Erin) and Joshua Kave (Molli) and Christopher Kave; great grand-daughter, Olivia Overdorff.  He is also survived by several nephews and nieces.

He is also preceded in death by his siblings, John "Petie" Kave, Robert Lee Kave, Jr., Donald Kave, Ethel Hebb, Mary "Tito" Kave and Norman "Nonie" Kave.

The family will receive friends from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm on Tuesday, April 6, 2021 at Bast-Stauffer Funeral Home, 7606 Old National Pike in Boonsboro, Maryland.

A celebration of Buddy's life will follow at the funeral home at 2:00 pm on Wednesday, April 7, 2021. Rev. Karl Muhlbach will officiate.  Military honors will be held at Boonsboro Cemetery.
