Betty Talbott
June 13, 1931 — February 22, 2017
Betty June Talbott, devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, passed away peacefully on February 22 in Frederick, Maryland. She was born on June 13, 1931 In Spencer, WV to William Albert Bower and Dovie Ellen Starcher. June was married to Alan Talbott in September of 1951, and they recently celebrated their 65th wedding anniversary. June and Alan resided in Athens for over 50 years before moving to Frederick, MD.
June loved cooking and baking, and will be fondly remembered for her delicious pies and chocolate chip cookies. She enjoyed spending time with family, working in her rose garden, and attending the First Baptist Church of Athens. A shared love of travel and seeing the countryside brought June and Alan to all 50 states, enjoying many long road trips and family visits along the way.
June will be lovingly remembered by her husband, Alan, their children, Michael Talbott and wife, Patricia; Denise Talbott and husband, James; Frank Talbott and wife, Rhonda. She also leaves to behind grandchildren and great-grandchildren: Anne Main and husband Andrew and their children, Drew and Addison; Jim Mong and wife Gloria and their children, Luis, Christina, and Isabella; Danielle Talbott and husband Peter; Chuu Mong and husband Andrew; Alan Talbott and wife Rachel. June will also be forever remembered by her sister, Bess Sparling and many nieces and nephews.
June was preceded in death by her brothers, Russell and William Bower, and her sisters Margie Smith, Madeline Bower, and Jessie Spitzer.
Services will be private.
